Fabric & Materials

Tip: When sewing knit fabrics, use a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Topstitch the hem allowance with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front. Serge the seams and press them towards the back.
  2. Serge the neckline edge. Fold the allowance to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
  3. Serge the upper straight edge (a section 4-5 cm wide) of the lower front part and the corresponding edge of the upper front part. Fold the allowance to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
  4. Fold the curved edges of the left upper front part right sides together and stitch to the corresponding edge of the lower front part. Serge the seam and press. Thread the right piece through the created loop and stitch in the same way.
  5. Fold the lower edge of the upper front part along the notch at the side seam and secure the upper and lower front parts together along the side edge.
  6. Stitch the side seams of the back and front. Serge the seams and press them towards the back.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seams. Serge the seams and press.
  8. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching the notches. Serge the seams and press.
  9. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
