Cutting Plan
From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece
- Front – 1 piece
- Front Yoke – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
Fabric & Materials
Tip: Pattern pieces made from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the right shoulder seam of the back and front yoke. Serge the seam and press towards the back.
- Twist the yoke once and stitch the left shoulder seam. Serge the seam and press towards the back.
- On the front yoke, clip the seam allowance near the mark on the neckline edge. Serge the neckline of the back and front. On the yoke, serge the section from the notch to the shoulder seam. Fold the allowances to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
- On the front, clip the seam allowance near the mark on the upper edge. Serge the section of the edge between the notches, fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
- Stitch the front to the yoke from the notch to the armhole. Serge the seam and press.
- Stitch the side seams of the back and front. Serge the seams and press towards the back.
- Stitch the sleeve seams. Serge the seams and press.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches. Serge the seams and press.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeves. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
