Pattern #5669
Tech. Description

Cold-Shoulder Knit Top

Introducing a women's knit top pattern featuring an asymmetrical cold-shoulder cutout and a striking diagonal front seam.

When To Wear

This stylish knit top is perfect for adding a chic touch to your everyday wardrobe, suitable for:

  • Casual Outings: Its comfortable knit construction and unique design make it ideal for relaxed yet fashionable wear.
  • Daytime Social Events: The asymmetrical cold-shoulder detail and elegant drape elevate it for brunches or gatherings.
  • Transitional Weather: The three-quarter sleeves provide comfortable coverage for spring or early autumn.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: A semi-fitted top designed to gently skim the body, finishing at hip length.

Neckline: Features an asymmetrical neckline with a classic round shape on the left, leading to a modern cold-shoulder cutout on the right, secured by a single shoulder strap. All neckline and strap edges are neatly bound.

Front: Defined by a distinctive diagonal seam that sweeps across the front bodice, creating visual dynamism and shaping.

Sleeves: Three-quarter length, set-in sleeves, with the right sleeve incorporating the cold-shoulder cutout.

Hem: Straight bottom hem, suitable for elastic knit finishes.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires experience working with knit fabrics, precise binding of curved edges, and careful assembly of asymmetrical pattern pieces.

Fabric Recommendations

Select knit fabrics with good stretch and recovery for optimal fit and comfort:

  • Medium to high-stretch knit fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Knit tape or bias binding for edge finishing

Fabric & Materials

Pattern pieces made from knit fabrics should be sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging with an overlock machine, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Hem allowances should be topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Cutting Plan

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Right Back – 1 piece
  • 2. Left Back – 1 piece
  • 3. Right Front – 1 piece
  • 4. Left Front – 1 piece
  • 5. Right Sleeve – 1 piece
  • 6. Left Sleeve – 1 piece
