Camisole with Ruched Ring Detail

Pattern #5662
Tech. Description

Cutting Plan

From main fabric:

  • Back – 1 piece
  • Front – 1 piece

Tip: When sewing pattern pieces made from knit fabrics, use a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Topstitch the hem allowance with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Serge the upper edges of the front, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  2. Cut a facing for the oval edge of the front, depending on the ring width. Facing calculation: ring thickness + 0.5 cm for ease + 2 cm for seams = facing width.
  3. Serge the outer and side edges of the facing. Fold the side edges of the facing to the wrong side by 0.7 cm. Place the facing on the front, right sides together, and stitch along the inner edge. Fold the facing to the wrong side, insert the ring between the front and the facing, and topstitch.
  4. Bind the armhole edge of the front with knit tape, leaving the ends of the tape for the straps.
  5. Serge the upper edge of the back.
  6. Stitch the side seams of the back and front. Note: the length of the back side seam is 1.5 cm longer than the front side seam. Align the edges from the hemline. Serge the seams and press towards the back.
  7. Fold the allowance of the upper edge of the back to the wrong side and topstitch.
  8. Serge the bottom edge of the garment. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
  9. Adjust the strap length during fitting. Sew the strap ends to the upper edge of the back.
