  • Layering: A foundational piece for layering under jackets or cardigans when the weather is cooler.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: A relaxed-fit body that can be cinched and styled with adjustable side drawstrings for a customized, flattering ruching effect.

Neckline: A classic scoop neckline, offering a comfortable and universally flattering opening.

Sleeves: Sleeveless design with neatly finished armholes, providing ease of movement & breathability.

Details: Side channels with decorative drawstrings run along each side seam, allowing for custom gathering and styling.

Level Of Difficulty

Beginner. Involves basic garment construction techniques and working with knit fabrics, including simple seams, hemming, and creating a drawstring casing.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose knit fabrics with good stretch and drape for optimal comfort and the desired ruched effect:

  • Knit fabrics of medium or high stretch
  • Natural or blended fibers such as cotton jersey, rayon jersey, or similar knits

Additional Supplies

  • Decorative ribbon for the drawstrings

Fabric & Materials

Tip: When sewing knit fabrics, use a special elastic stitch or a narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Topstitch the hem allowance with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Cutting Plan

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Back – 1 piece
  • 2. Front – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the shoulder seams of the back and front. Serge the seams and press towards the back.
  2. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the neckline edge. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
  3. Serge the side edges. Stitch the side seam and press open. Topstitch the allowance, seam width 1 cm. Thread the drawstring through the created opening. Secure the drawstring at the armhole edge.
  4. Serge the armhole edge. Fold to the wrong side and topstitch.
