  • Cotton voile, rayon challis, linen blends, or similar fluid fabrics

Additional Supplies

  • An invisible zipper
  • Fusible interfacing
  • Decorative ribbon for shoulder straps
  • Bias tape for armhole finishes

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Upper BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
  • 2. Lower BACK PANEL – 1 QTY
  • 3. Back YOKE – 2 QTY
  • 4. Upper FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
  • 5. Lower FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
  • 6. Front YOKE – 2 QTY
  • From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
  • 1. Back YOKE – 1 QTY
  • 2. Front YOKE – 1 QTY

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to one Back YOKE piece and one Front YOKE piece.
  2. Stitch with loosely tensioned stitches 0.5 cm from the edge along the upper edge of the skirt and the lower edge of the upper BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL. Gather the fabric.
  3. Place the Front YOKE pieces right sides together. Insert the upper FRONT PANEL between them so that the right side of the FRONT PANEL is against the right side of the interfaced YOKE piece. Stitch the three pieces together with one seam. Finish the seam, turn right side out, and press. Stitch the YOKE to the upper BACK PANEL in the same manner.
  4. Place the lower edge of the Front YOKE pieces and the lower FRONT PANEL together. Stitch the seam, finish, and press upwards. Topstitch 1 mm from the seam. Process the Back YOKE and lower BACK PANEL in the same way.
  5. Stitch the SIDE PANELS, leaving the left seam unstitched up to the NOTCH for the ZIPPER. Finish and press open the seams, pressing the ZIPPER openings. Insert the ZIPPER.
  6. Press the BIAS BINDING in half lengthwise and bind the armhole edges.
  7. Turn under the ends of the BIAS BINDING and secure by hand.
  8. Finish the upper edge of the upper BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL, fold it under 0.5 cm first, then another 2 cm, and topstitch.
  9. Thread a decorative ribbon through the dress, forming shoulder straps of the desired length.
  10. Finish the lower edge of the dress, fold under, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the lower edge.
