Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the facing, upper collar, and stand with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch and serge the princess seams on the front. Press the princess seams towards the center of the front.
- Stitch and serge the princess seams on the back. Press the princess seams towards the center of the back.
- Serge, stitch, and press the center back seam.
- Serge the inner edge of the facing.
- Place the facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin, and stitch along the front edge. Stitching is done from the front side upwards. Stitch the lower edges of the facings to the front strictly along the marked hemline. Trim the seams of the lower front corners. Topstitch the seam allowance of the front edge to the facing. The stitching should be 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the front edges to the right side, and straighten the seams.
- Serge, stitch, and press the shoulder seams towards the back.
- Serge, stitch, and press the side seams towards the back.
- Stitch the under collar to the upper collar, trim the seam allowances at the corners, and turn the collar right side out. Press the collar.
- Stitch the stands, inserting the collar between them.
- Attach the lower stand with the collar to the neckline, fold under the raw edge of the upper stand, and topstitch into the seam of the lower stand attachment. Add a decorative stitch along the collar.
- Stitch the sleeve seams. Serge the sleeve seam and press.
- Set in the sleeves, easing the cap. Serge the armhole seam.
- Serge the hem allowances of the garment and sleeves, turn to the wrong side, and topstitch along the edge.
- On the right front, serge the buttonholes, and on the left front, sew on the buttons.
