Sleeveless Flounced Princess Seam Dress

A women's close-fitting sleeveless dress with princess seams from the armholes on the front and back, a V-neck at the front and a scooped back neck. A flounce, cut in separate sections for each panel, is joined at the low hip along a curved seam and falls to an uneven hemline.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted bodice and hips without a waist seam, shaped by princess seams; the flounce adds width below the low hip.

Length: Uneven: on the front the flounce is shorter at the centre and longer at the sides; on the back it falls to a point at the centre.

Neckline: V-neck at the front, scooped at the back, both bound with bias tape.

Sleeves: Sleeveless, armholes bound with bias tape.

Front: Centre front panel cut in one piece, with side front panels joined by princess seams pressed towards the centre.

Back: Centre back seam with an invisible zip; princess seams from the armholes.

Skirt: Four flounce sections on the front (centre front, two side fronts) and back (two middle backs, two side backs), each stitched to its own panel. The joining seam dips to a point at the centre front and curves in a wave across the back.

Finishing: Seams overlocked; flounce hem overlocked, turned to the wrong side and topstitched 0.5 cm from the edge.
