Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Waistband and Button Catch.
  2. Mark and stitch the darts on the Front Halves and Back Halves. Press the front darts towards the center front and the back darts towards the center back.
  3. Serge the side edges, inseam edges and center front/center back edges of the Front Halves and Back Halves. Stitch the side seams. Press open the side seams.
  4. Stitch the inseams and press them open. Stitch the center front and center back seam up to the zipper notch. Stitch a second line along the seat (crotch) seam next to the first stitching.
  5. Press the zipper facings cut in one with the Front Halves to the wrong side. Stitch the zipper under the folded edge of the left side, close to the edge. Stitch the free zipper tape to the facing of the right Front Half. Fold the Button Catch in half lengthwise, right sides together, stitch the short lower edge and turn out. Stitch the zipper facing of the left Front Half onto the Button Catch. Topstitch the right edge of the opening, catching the facing.
  6. Mark and work the buttonholes for the drawstring on the Waistband. Press the waistband in half lengthwise, wrong sides together, and serge the lower inner edge of the waistband.
  7. Turn under the ends of the ties. Fold the ties lengthwise and stitch 0.7 cm from the fold. Turn the ties right side out and press. Stitch the ends closed.
  8. Stitch the waistband to the upper edge of the pants. Stitch the ends of the waistband, trim the seam allowances at the corners and turn out. Topstitch the lower serged edge of the waistband into the attachment seam and press the waistband in its finished form. Thread the tie through the waistband.

  10. Sew a hook to the right end of the waistband and a loop to the left.
