- Button Catch – 1 piece
- Belt-Loop – 1 piece (one long strip, cut into loops after sewing)
- Back Skirt – 1 piece
- Front Skirt – 2 pieces
- Side Front Skirt – 2 pieces
- Bigger Pocket Bag – 2 pieces
- Smaller Pocket Bag – 2 pieces
- Front Skirt Waistband – 4 pieces
- Back Skirt Waistband – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing: the inner (facing) Front Skirt Waistband and Back Skirt Waistband pieces.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the inner (facing) front and back waistband pieces.
- Mark and stitch the darts on the back skirt. Press the darts towards the center back.
- Fold the belt-loop strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, aligning the raw edges, and stitch 0.5-0.7 cm from the edges. Turn it right side out, placing the seam on the fold or forming a 0.1-0.2 cm piping on the inside, and press. Cut the strip into belt loops according to the pattern.
- Stitch the smaller pocket bag to the side front skirt. Overlock the seam and topstitch it onto the pocket bag. Face the pocket opening of the front skirt with the bigger pocket bag. Press the pocket opening, rolling the seam slightly to the inside, and topstitch 1 cm from the edge. Baste the side front skirt to the front skirt along the upper edge. Stitch the pocket bags together and overlock them.
- Stitch the side seams of the outer waistband and press them open. Stitch the waistband to the front and back skirt, inserting the belt loops.
- Stitch the fly piece to the right front skirt. Overlock the center front edges of the front skirt and fly piece. Stitch the center front seam up to the zipper notch.
- Overlock the side edges of the front and back skirt. Stitch the side seams of the skirt and press them open.
- Press the attached fly piece to the wrong side. Stitch the zipper close to the folded edge of the left closure allowance. Stitch the free zipper tape to the fly piece on the right half, without catching the fabric of the front skirt. Fold the button catch in half lengthwise and stitch across the short lower and upper edges. Turn it right side out, press, and overlock the long raw edges together. Stitch the closure allowance with the zipper and the button catch on the left half of the skirt.
- Trim the right front waistband by the width of the fly piece. Stitch the side seams of the interfaced waistband facing and press them open. Overlock the lower edge of the interfaced waistband facing. Stitch the facing to the upper edge of the waistband, right sides together. Understitch the seam allowance onto the facing 0.2 cm from the seam. Fold under the center front edge of the right waistband and topstitch a decorative curved line on the right front, catching the fly piece and the folded edge of the waistband; fold under the center front edge of the left waistband and stitch it into the button catch seam. Fold under the ends of the belt loops and topstitch them onto the waistband with a double row of stitching.
- Overlock the lower edge of the skirt. Press up the 3 cm hem allowance and topstitch.
