Tech. Description

Drawstring Neck Blouse

A women's pullover blouse of hip length with long bell sleeves, a round neckline and a short decorative slit at the centre front, gathered by a cord threaded through its turned edge. The back is shaped with darts.

When To Wear

  • In spring and summer, tucked into or worn over skirts and trousers.
  • For everyday and office wear in light natural fabrics.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Straight, semi-fitted pullover with no fastenings.

Length: Hip length, straight hem.

Neckline: Round neckline, turned under and topstitched 0.7 cm from the fold. A short slit at the centre front is finished the same way to form a channel; a cord threaded through it gathers the front neckline and ties at the front.

Sleeves: Long, one-piece set-in sleeves, eased into the armhole, widening from the elbow into a bell shape.

Front: Cut in one piece, without darts.

Back: Cut in one piece, with two vertical waist darts pressed towards the centre back.

Finishing: Shoulder and side seams overlocked and pressed towards the back; hem and sleeve hems overlocked, turned up and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Beginner. Three pattern pieces, back darts, set-in sleeves with eased caps and a turned-and-topstitched cord channel at the neckline.

Fabric Recommendations

Thin natural fabrics.
