Fabric & Materials

FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: waistband; underlap.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to: waistband; underlap.
  2. Stitch the shaped edges of the yoke parts: Back Yoke 1, Back Yoke 2, Back Yoke 3, Back Yoke 4, and Back Yoke. Overcast the seams, press them open, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the stitching lines.
  3. Attach the stitched yokes to the BACK SKIRT HALF. Overcast the seam, press it open, and topstitch 0.5 cm from the attachment seam.
  4. Stitch the center seam of the BACK SKIRT HALF. Overcast the seam, press it open, and topstitch with a double decorative stitch 0.5 cm from the center seam.
  5. Press the side and bottom edges of the decorative loop, place the loop on the BACK SKIRT HALF, and topstitch.
  6. Overcast the center edge of the FRONT SKIRT HALF. Stitch the center edge of the FRONT SKIRT HALF from the NOTCH for the slit to the NOTCH for the ZIPPER. Press the center seam open and topstitch with a double decorative stitch 0.5 cm from the center seam.
  7. Stitch the side seams of the skirt, overcast the seams, and press them open.
  8. Press the one-piece ZIPPER FACINGS to the wrong side. Attach the ZIPPER under the edge of the ZIPPER allowance (left side) close to the edge. Attach the free tape of the ZIPPER to the right half, to the one-piece FACING. Fold the underlap in half lengthwise and stitch the short bottom edge. Topstitch the one-piece ZIPPER FACING to the underlap on the left half of the skirt. Topstitch the right edge of the slit, catching the FACING.
  9. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise with the wrong side in and press it. Overcast the bottom edge of the waistband. Attach the waistband to the skirt. Stitch the ends of the waistband. Trim excess fabric and turn out the ends. Topstitch the overcast edge into the waistband attachment seam.
  10. Overcast the bottom edge of the skirt. Fold up and press the hem allowance. Topstitch the hem allowance to the skirt.
  11. On the right side of the waistband, overcast a buttonhole, and on the left side, sew a button.
