Pattern #5358
Tech. Description

Panelled Mermaid Skirt with Lace-Up Back

This women's made-to-measure sewing pattern creates a striking mermaid-silhouette skirt featuring intricate panel construction and a distinctive lace-up back closure.

When To Wear

This elegant skirt is designed for making a sophisticated statement, ideal for:

  • Formal Occasions: Perfect for galas, evening events, and upscale gatherings where a dramatic silhouette is desired.
  • Statement Styling: Ideal for special parties or fashion-forward events, ensuring a memorable entrance.
  • Elegant Ensembles: Pairs beautifully with fitted tops to create a contemporary and refined evening look.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: A dramatic mermaid silhouette, fitted through the hips and thighs, then flaring out gracefully to a floor-length hem.

Waist: High-waisted, designed to sit comfortably at the natural waistline and create an elongated figure.

Front: Features a series of vertically arranged panels that create a smooth, figure-hugging contour and elegant lines.

Back: A distinctive lace-up detail runs along the upper back of the skirt, providing an adjustable fit and adding a unique visual element.

Construction: The skirt is meticulously shaped by multiple vertical panels, which can be enhanced with decorative topstitching for added definition.

Hem: A wide, flared hem provides elegant movement and a luxurious, floor-sweeping finish.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Requires precision in panel alignment, managing curved seams, and applying eyelets for the lace-up closure.
