Cutter's Must
- From main fabric:
- Back skirt half – 2 pieces
- Pocket – 1 piece
- Front skirt half – 2 pieces
- Back facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Pocket trim 1 – 1 piece
- Pocket trim 2 – 1 piece
- Fly shield – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing: Back and front facing, fly shield.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to: back and front facing, fly shield.
- Mark darts on the front skirt half and back skirt half. Stitch darts on the front skirt half and back skirt half. Press darts on the front skirt half towards the center of the front skirt half, and on the back skirt half towards the center of the back skirt half.
- Overlock the side edges of pocket trim 1 and pocket trim 2. Press the side edges of the trims and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge. Overlock the bottom edge of the trims, fold and topstitch at a distance of 1 cm from the fold. Topstitch pocket trim 1 to the upper edge of the pocket, and pocket trim 2 to the lower rounded edge, overlock the patch pocket along the outer contour. Fold and press the seam allowances, according to the pattern. Mark the pocket placement on the front skirt half. Place the pocket on the front skirt half according to the markings and topstitch.
- Overlock the side and center edges of the front skirt half and back skirt half.
- Stitch and press open the center seam of the back skirt half. Stitch the center seam of the front skirt half up to the notches. Press open the center seam of the front skirt half.
- Stitch and press open the side edges of the front and back FACINGs. Overlock the bottom edge of the FACINGs.
- Stitch and press open the side seams of the garment.
- Press the one-piece FACINGs of the closure to the wrong side. Press the center edge of the front facing. Fold the facing with the upper edge of the skirt, fold the one-piece closure facing to the right side of the skirt and stitch the upper edge of the skirt. Understitch the stitching seam at a distance of 0.2 cm from the stitching seam. Trim and turn out the upper right corner.
- Stitch the zipper under the edge of the closure allowance (left side) to the edge. Stitch the free zipper tape to the right half to the one-piece facing. Fold the fly shield in half lengthwise and stitch, the short bottom and top edges. Topstitch the one-piece closure facing to the zipper on the fly shield on the left half of the trousers. Topstitch the right edge of the slit, catching the facing. Attach the overlocked edge of the FACINGs to the skirt seams.
- Overlock the hem of the skirt, fold and topstitch. Press the hem of the skirt in its finished state.
- On the right front, overlock the buttonhole, and on the left, sew on the button.
