Sewing Instructions

TIP: To ensure the fabric remains stretchy in areas with finished seams, stitch the cut pieces with a narrow zigzag or special stretch stitch. To keep the bottom edge stretchy, overcast the hem with an overlock stitch, then stitch it using a twin needle. The same applies to finishing other edges of the garment that should not lose elasticity. These recommendations do not apply to industrial production.

  1. Fuse the armhole FACING for the FRONT PANEL and the armhole FACING for the BACK PANEL.
  2. Stitch the center back seam.
  3. Stitch the darts on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL.
  4. Overcast the darts on the FRONT PANEL.
  5. Stitch the side stripe to the side edge of the BACK PANEL.
  6. Stitch the side stripe to the side edge of the FRONT PANEL.
  7. Stitch the shoulder edges, inserting tape.
  8. Stitch the shoulder edges of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL FACINGS.
  9. Overcast the outer edge of the FACINGS.
  10. Stitch the side edges of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL FACINGS.
  11. Finish the armhole with the FACING.
  12. Fold the FACING to the wrong side of the garment, enclosing the seam and forming an edge. Press the armhole.
  13. Topstitch along the armhole.
  14. Attach the outer edge of the FACING to the side and shoulder seams.
  15. Finish the COLLAR along the outer edge.
  16. Stitch the center seam of the COLLAR.
  17. Mark and overcast the buttonholes on the upper COLLAR for the cord.
  18. Fold the lower COLLAR to the wrong side. From the right side of the COLLAR, stitch a channel for the cord.
  19. Set the COLLAR into the neckline.
  20. Thread the cord through the COLLAR.
  21. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment.
  22. Fold and topstitch the bottom edge of the garment.
