Front Casing – 2 pieces
Sleeve Casing – 2 pieces

From fusible interfacing: Front Neckline Facing, Back Neckline Facing.

Sewing Instructions

Fuse interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facing.
Stitch the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facing together at the shoulders. Overlock the outer edge of the facings.
Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting a stay tape (selvedge strip) into the seam.
Stitch the facings to the neckline of the front and back.
Turn the facings to the wrong side and topstitch them in place.
Stitch the side seams.
Stitch the Sleeve seams.
Set in the Sleeves, easing the cap.
Turn up and topstitch the hems of the sleeves and the garment.
For gathered variations, the following changes are introduced:
Turn up and topstitch the hems of the sleeves and the garment.
Place each casing strip (Front Casing, Back Casing, Sleeve Casing; lining fabric may be used) on the wrong side of the blouse or sleeve along the markings, turning under the lower end of the strip. Baste the strip in place from the right side, then stitch along the markings.
For each tie, fold a strip lengthwise and stitch 0.7 cm from the fold. Turn the tie right side out and press. Stitch the ends closed. Thread the ties through the casings. Gather the fabric onto the ties, distribute the gathers, and tie the ends.
