Tech. Description

Blouse with Drawstring Channels and Sleeve Ties

Introducing a women's blouse pattern featuring a fitted silhouette, a classic rounded neckline, and extensive ruching on the front and sleeves controlled by adjustable drawstrings.

When To Wear

This versatile blouse offers a blend of comfort and style, making it an excellent choice for:

  • Elevated Casual Wear: Perfect for stylish everyday outfits that require a touch of feminine detail.
  • Transitional Styling: A great piece for moving between seasons or dressing up casual bottoms.
  • Feminine Statement Piece: The ruching and ties create a unique design that stands out.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Fitted through the body, ending at the hip, with full-length, gathered sleeves.

Neckline: A classic rounded crew neck offers a comfortable and timeless appeal.

Sleeves: Long, set-in sleeves feature adjustable drawstring channels along their length, creating customizable ruching, and finishing with flared cuffs detailed with decorative ties.

Front Body: The front bodice is adorned with multiple vertical drawstring channels, allowing for adjustable ruching to flatter the figure and tied at the lower hem.

Back: The back remains smooth and unadorned, providing a clean contrast to the gathered front and sleeves.

Hem: A straight hemline on the body, with the front drawstring ties extending below for both functional adjustment and decorative flair.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern requires experience with knit fabrics, easing sleeves, and constructing drawstring channels and ties.

Fabric & Materials

FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: FRONT NECKLINE FACING, BACK NECKLINE FACING.

TIP: To ensure the material remains stretchy in the areas with seams, stitch the cut pieces with a narrow zigzag or a special stretchy stitch. To keep the bottom edge stretchy, the hem should be overlocked with an overlock stitch, then stitched using a twin needle. This also applies to finishing other edges of the garment that should not lose elasticity. These recommendations do not apply to industrial production.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse the FRONT NECKLINE FACING and BACK NECKLINE FACING with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
  2. Stitch the FRONT NECKLINE FACING and BACK NECKLINE FACING together. Overlock the FACINGS.
  3. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting a selvedge into the shoulder.
  4. Finish the neckline of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL with the FACINGS.
  5. Topstitch the neckline FACINGS of the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL.
  6. Stitch the side seams.
  7. Stitch the SLEEVE seams.
  8. Set in the SLEEVES, easing the cap.
  9. Hem and topstitch the bottom of the SLEEVE and the garment.
  10. For gathered variations, the following changes are introduced:
  11. Hem and topstitch the bottom of the SLEEVE and the garment.
  12. Place each casing strip from the lining fabric onto the wrong side of the blouse or SLEEVE according to the markings, turn back the lower end of the strip. Baste the strip from the right side to the blouse, then topstitch along the markings.
  13. Fold each strip lengthwise and stitch at a distance of 0.7cm from the fold. Turn the tie right side out and press. Stitch the ends closed. Thread the ties into the casing. Gather the fabric onto the ties, distribute the gathers, and tighten the ends of the ties.
