- Fusible interfacing for the waistband
CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- 1. Center FRONT SKIRT HALF - 1 piece on fold
- 2. Side FRONT SKIRT HALF - 2 pieces
- 3. BACK SKIRT HALF - 2 pieces
- 4. Waistband - 1 piece
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: interface the waistband piece.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the front princess seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the center FRONT SKIRT HALF. On the right side, topstitch along the princess seams.
- Stitch the darts of the BACK SKIRT HALF.
- Stitch the center seam of the BACK SKIRT HALF, leaving an unstitched section at the top for the ZIPPER.
- Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch the side seams.
- Fold the waistband right sides together with the upper edge of the skirt and attach, leaving the SEAM ALLOWANCE for the fastener protruding at the right back edge of the waistband. Finish the ends of the waistband with a FACING. Turn under the inner edges of the waistband and topstitch from the right side into the attachment seam. On the left end of the waistband, make a buttonhole; on the right, sew on a button.
- Press the hem allowance to the wrong side, fold under, and topstitch.
