Tech. Description

Lace Yoke Sleeveless Bodysuit with Inserts

A close-fitting sleeveless women's bodysuit in stretch fabric, with lace yokes at the front and back, lace bands along the leg openings and a crotch fastened with hook-and-eye tape. All edges are bound with ready-made bias binding.

When To Wear

  • Under a skirt or trousers in place of a top, with the lace yoke showing.
  • As lingerie.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Close-fitting one-piece with high-cut leg openings.

Neckline: Round neckline in the lace yoke, bound with bias binding. The front yoke is cut on the fold and dips to a point at the centre front; the bound upper edge of the body is laid over the yoke and topstitched.

Sleeves: Sleeveless, with bound armholes.

Closure: A short opening at the top of the centre back seam, fastened with a small button and a thread loop; hook-and-eye tape at the crotch.

Back: Two pieces with a centre back seam running through the body and the lace yoke; the back yoke has a straight lower edge.

Legs: Lace bands along the leg openings at the front and back: the bound leg edges are topstitched onto the lace, and the outer edges of the lace are bound as well.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Binding stretch edges, lapping bound edges over lace, setting hook-and-eye tape and making a thread loop.

Fabric Recommendations

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the center seam of the back and back yoke, leaving an opening for the fastener.
