Bodysuit with Lace Waist Panel

A women's close-fitting bodysuit in stretch fabric with a stretch lace panel across the front midriff, lace cap sleeves, a scoop neckline, high-cut legs and a three-snap crotch closure.

When To Wear

  • Under high-waisted skirts, trousers or shorts, where the bodysuit stays tucked in.
  • As lingerie or loungewear.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: Close fitting, shaped by the stretch of the fabric, with no darts.

Neckline: Scoop neckline at the front and back.

Sleeves: Short cap sleeves cut from stretch lace, sewn into the armholes.

Front: Cut in three horizontal parts: upper front, a stretch lace middle front across the waist, and lower front, all cut on the fold.

Closure: Three small snaps at the crotch, on cut-on facings.

Back: One piece cut on the fold.

Legs: High-cut leg openings with 3 mm elastic attached with a zigzag stitch, slightly stretched.

Finishing: Neckline, armholes and leg openings overlocked, turned to the wrong side and topstitched.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. Joining stretch lace to knit fabric, applying elastic to the leg openings and setting a snap crotch closure.

Fabric Recommendations

For knit/stretch fabric only: the sample uses a stretch fabric with an openwork pattern for the body and stretch lace for the middle front and cap sleeves.
