A-Line Skirt with Drawstring and Side Patch Pocket with a Flap

• 11. Back Panel - 2 pieces
• 12. Pocket FACING – 1 piece

• From SYNTEPON:
• 15. Front Panel - 1 piece on fold
• 16. Back Panel - 2 pieces

• 20. Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch the synthetic batting pieces to the corresponding LINING pieces with a loose stitch 0.5 cm from the edge.
2. Stitch the front panel and front yoke pieces together, press the SEAM ALLOWANCE towards the yoke.
3. Attach the lower and upper pocket parts to the FACING made of main fabric.
4. Turn the pocket right side out.
5. Fold the flap with the lower main pocket piece right sides together and stitch.
6. Turn right side out, baste, and press.
7. Stitch the pocket LINING pieces.
8. Insert the main fabric pocket into the LINING and stitch along the upper edge, leaving the LINING edge unstitched where the flap will be attached.
9. Fold the pocket LINING inside the pocket, hand stitch the lower edge of the flap to the lower pocket LINING.
10. Topstitch the pocket flap, stitch the hook-and-loop fastener according to the markings, topstitch the pocket edges.
11. On the pocket, install the upper part of the snap, on the FRONT SKIRT HALF – the lower part.
12. Fold the main fabric front panel with the LINING and stitch along the left side from the slit mark downwards, the bottom of the garment, and along the right side upwards to the mark.
13. Clip the side SEAM ALLOWANCES near the marks, trim the synthetic batting from the SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn right side out.
14. Baste the SEAM ALLOWANCES, straighten the corners, press.
15. Attach the yokes to the back panels, trim the synthetic batting, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yoke.
16. Stitch the center SEAM ALLOWANCE of the main fabric back panel up to the yoke, trim the synthetic batting, press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open.
17. Insert the ZIPPER into the back yoke.
18. Stitch the center SEAM ALLOWANCE of the LINING back panel up to the beginning of the ZIPPER.
19. Trim the synthetic batting, press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open.
20. Fold the main fabric back panel with the LINING and stitch along the left side from the slit mark downwards, the bottom of the garment, and along the right side upwards along the slit to the mark.
21. Clip the side SEAM ALLOWANCES near the marks, trim the synthetic batting from the SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn right side out.
22. Baste the SEAM ALLOWANCES, straighten the corners, press.
23. Fold the ZIPPER allowances on the LINING and sew to the ZIPPER tape.
24. Place the front and back panels right sides together and stitch the side SEAM ALLOWANCES of the main fabric, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
25. Turn the garment so that the LINING pieces are now right sides together and stitch the side SEAM ALLOWANCES.
26. Trim the synthetic batting, press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
27. Turn the skirt right side out.
28. Topstitch the slit according to the markings on the front panel, topstitch the hook-and-loop fasteners.
29. Stitch the synthetic batting to the wrong side of the waistband.
30. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise and stitch the short ends.
31. Turn the waistband right side out.
32. On the outside, according to the markings, make 2 buttonholes for the ties.
33. Fold the ties in half lengthwise and stitch along the long and short sides.
34. Turn right side out, baste, and press.
35. Thread the ties through the buttonholes and secure them on the inside of the waistband near the side SEAM ALLOWANCE.
36. Place the waistband and skirt right sides together and stitch.
37. Trim the synthetic batting from the SEAM ALLOWANCE, press the SEAM ALLOWANCE towards the waistband.
38. Fold the inner edge of the waistband inwards and topstitch into the attachment SEAM ALLOWANCE.
39. On the waistband, make a buttonhole according to the markings and sew on a button.
