CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- 1. Back Skirt Half – QTY 2
- 2. Right Front Skirt Half - QTY 1
- 3. Left Front Skirt Half - QTY 1
- 4. Back FACING - QTY 1 on fold
- 5. Right Front FACING - QTY 1
- 6. Left Front FACING - QTY 1
- 7. Patch pocket - QTY 2
- 8. Belt loop – QTY 6 (10 cm long and 3 cm wide including SEAM ALLOWANCES)
- 9. Fly shield – QTY 1 on fold
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to FACING pieces and fly shield (Heat-activated interfacings are pressed onto the wrong side of the fabric with a hot iron).
- Stitch darts on the BACK SKIRT HALVES, press towards the center.
- Stitch the center back seam up to the slit mark, press open, serge, and topstitch the slit 1 mm from the edge.
- Press the upper edge of the pocket to the wrong side, fold the edge in by 0.5 cm, and topstitch 1 mm from the edge.
- Press the pocket SEAM ALLOWANCES inwards, place it on the skirt panels along the alignment line, and topstitch 1 mm.
- Serge the center edges of the FRONT SKIRT HALVES, place the panels right sides together, and sew the center seam from the beginning of the fly opening down 3 – 4 cm. ZIPPER closure.
- Press the cut-on FACING for the closure on the right panel to the wrong side along the center front line, and on the left panel — 1 cm from the edge.
- Press the fly shield in half lengthwise with the right side out, serge the open edges.
- Attach the ZIPPER under the edge of the closure allowance on the left side, close to the edge, positioning the teeth flush with the fold and placing the fly shield with its fold towards the center so that the serged edge covers the ZIPPER tape.
- Pin the slit, aligning the center front lines.
- Attach the free ZIPPER tape to the FACING of the right side of the closure, without catching the fabric of the FRONT PANEL.
- Topstitch the right FRONT SKIRT HALF along the closure according to the marking, catching the FACING and folding back the fly shield. Finish the stitching 1.5 – 2 cm before the center seam.
- Then, fold the fly shield back into place and continue stitching to the seam.
- Fold the center edge of the right FRONT SKIRT HALF inwards and topstitch it onto the left panel according to the marking, continuing the stitching past the slit mark.
- Topstitch the left side of the slit.
- Stitch the front FACINGS to the back FACING at the side edges. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the bottom edge.
- Place the FACINGS with the upper edge of the skirt right sides together and stitch. Turn to the right side, secure the short sides, and topstitch the upper edge 1 mm.
- Turn up the hem allowance of the skirt, topstitch the bottom of the skirt.
- Serge a buttonhole on the right FRONT SKIRT HALF. Sew a button onto the left FRONT SKIRT HALF.
