Tech. Description

Sleeveless Layered Blouse

Introducing a chic women's sewing pattern for a sleeveless blouse, featuring a gracefully flared silhouette with a dramatic high-low hem and an elegant layered construction.

When To Wear

This versatile blouse offers sophisticated comfort, making it perfect for:

  • Casual Chic Outings: Its relaxed yet stylish design is ideal for daytime events or weekend wear.
  • Semi-Formal Gatherings: The elegant drape and refined details elevate it for social events and smart-casual occasions.
  • Warm Weather Layering: A lightweight, breathable choice for comfortable summer fashion or under light jackets.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: A gracefully flared, loose-fitting silhouette that offers comfort and fluid movement.

Neckline: A classic high round neckline providing modest coverage and a clean finish.

Sleeves: Sleeveless design; the armholes are finished by stitching the two layers together, for a light and airy feel.

Hem: A distinctive high-low hemline, gracefully curved, with the front shorter than the back; the longer lower layer peeks out beneath the upper layer at the front.

Construction: Two full layers – an upper and a lower blouse – joined at the neckline and armholes, creating a layered effect and allowing for interesting fabric combinations.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern requires skills in assembling garment layers, neat neckline and armhole finishing, and working with curved hems.

Fabric Recommendations

Choose lightweight, flowing fabrics that will drape beautifully for this design, such as:

  • Thin dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers
  • Chiffon

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: thin dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers; chiffon.
If the pattern pieces have a double outline, seam allowances are included.
If the outline is single, seam allowances are not included.
Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm.
Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and arrange them on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
When sewing pieces together, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Upper Back – 1 piece on fold
  • 2. Upper Front – 1 piece on fold
  • 3. Lower Back – 1 piece on fold
  • 4. Lower Front – 1 piece on fold

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the shoulder seams of the upper front and upper back. Press seam allowances open. Stitch the side seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
  2. Stitch the side seams of the lower front and lower back. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back. Fold the lower front and lower back wrong sides together and stitch the shoulder seams. Press seam allowances open.
  3. Place the lower layer of the blouse, wrong side down, onto the right side of the upper layer, align the neckline edges and stitch around the neckline. Trim the seam allowances, turn the lower layer to the inside and press the neckline. Stitch the armholes in two stages: first the front armhole, then the back armhole.
  4. Overlock the hem allowance of the blouse, press to the wrong side and topstitch.

Tip: The blouse hem can be finished with a narrow rolled hem. In this case, trim the hem allowances to 0.5 cm.
