Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, a 6 cm wide eyelet.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance - 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 2 pieces
  • Right front panel - 1 piece
  • Left front panel – 1 piece
  • Right facing – 1 piece
  • Left facing - 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing - 1 piece
  • Long belt – 1 piece
  • Short belt – 1 piece
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Right facing – 1 piece
  • Left facing – 1 piece
  • Back neckline facing - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Note: markings on patterns are made on the right side!

1. Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch darts on back and front pieces. Press waist and shoulder dart allowances towards the center, bust darts upwards.
3. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances to the left side and overcast.
4. Stitch shoulder seams. Overcast allowances and press towards the back.
5. Fold belt pieces lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the long and short edges, trim allowances at corners. Turn belts right side out, press.
6. Cut a strip 4 cm wide, 20 cm long. Fold lengthwise and press. Turn edges inwards and press. Stitch a securing seam along the edge. Cut the tie into two parts.
7. Place the long part of the belt on the left side seam of the front panel, place the short part of the belt on top, align and secure the edges. Stitch side seams. Insert one part of the tie into the right side seam. Press allowances towards the back and overcast.
8. Stitch shoulder seams of facing and facings. Press allowances open. Overcast inner edge. Fold neckline facing and facings with the dress right sides together and stitch the neckline and front edge, inserting the tie into the left front seam. Clip allowances at curves, turn facing and facings to the wrong side, straighten, press. Secure pieces together along the shoulder seam.
9. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5cm. Fold the bias binding lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Fold the binding with the armhole edge from the right side and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
10. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
