CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the blouse bottom – 2 cm; hem allowance for the sleeve bottom – 3 cm; all other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back - 2 pieces
- Upper front part - 1 piece on fold
- Lower front part - 1 piece on fold
- Front sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Back sleeve part – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- Lower sleeve part – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the mark to the bottom. Press the seam allowance open, pressing the slit flat.
- Cut a bias strip 3 cm wide and 5 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the seam allowances and turn the piece right side out. Adjust the loop length.
- Stitch the bust darts on the front. Press the bust darts upwards. Attach the upper front part to the lower front part. Overlock the seam allowances and press upwards.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes of the front and back. Overlock the seam allowances and press towards the main pieces. Stitch the upper sleeve seam. Overlock the seam allowance and press towards the back sleeve part.
- Along the upper edge of the lower sleeve part, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the lower sleeve part. Overlock the seam allowance and press upwards.
- Stitch the side seams, simultaneously with the sleeve seam. Press the seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the front and back neckline facings. Overlock the outer edge of the facings. Place the facings with the main piece and stitch the neckline edge. Turn the facings to the wrong side, straighten the seams and press. Sew on the loop. Secure the facing at the shoulder seam and along the center back seam. Stitch a topstitching/securing stitch along the back slit.
- Overlock the lower sleeve edge. Fold the allowance under by 1 cm, press, then fold under by 2 cm. Stitch along the bottom of the sleeve, creating a casing. Thread the elastic tape through the casing and secure the ends.
- Overlock the bottom hem allowance. Fold inwards and topstitch. Sew on the button.
