FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: medium to low stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: zipper, decorative leather corners – 4 pcs.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seam allowances – 1 cm, hem allowance for the outer edge of the hood – 1.5 cm, pocket bag attachment allowance – 0.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Note: markings on the patterns are made on the right side of the fabric.
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Front sleeve – 2 pieces
- Back sleeve – 2 pieces
- Pocket bag – 4 pieces
- Bottom band – 1 piece on fold
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Left hood part – 1 piece
- Right hood part – 1 piece
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on the front pieces. Press dart depths upwards.
- Mark the pocket placement. Cut along the marked line an additional 1.5 cm. Attach pocket bags, placing them on the right side of the front. Serge seam allowances. Turn pocket bags inwards and stitch. Topstitch decorative leather inserts onto the pocket corners.
- Stitch the center back seam. Serge seam allowance and press to the left side.
- Attach the front sleeve part to the right side of the front. Serge seam allowance and press towards the sleeve. Serge the left side seam allowances separately and stitch up to the mark. Press the zipper opening. Place the zipper under the opening and stitch.
- Attach the back sleeve parts to the back. Serge seam allowances and press towards the sleeve. Stitch the upper sleeve seam. Serge seam allowance.
- Stitch the lower sleeve edges and side seams in one continuous seam. Press and serge seam allowances.
- Fold the bottom band into a loop and stitch. Fold the band in half lengthwise. Attach the band to the lower edge of the tunic. Serge seam allowances and press towards the tunic.
- Fold the cuff into a loop and stitch. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise. Attach the cuff to the lower edge of the sleeve. Serge seam allowances and press towards the sleeve.
- Stitch the hood seam. Serge seam allowances. Serge the outer edge of the hood. Fold seam allowances inwards and topstitch. Attach the hood to the neckline. Serge seam allowances.
