- From fusible interfacing:
- Back facing – 1 piece
- Front facing - 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the outer facings.
- Stitch the dart on the back, press the dart allowance towards the center. Attach the outer back facing to the upper back, press seam allowances upwards.
- Serge the bottom edge of the bow. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch. Form a pleat on the bow. Place the bow on the side skirt and secure along the edges. Then treat as one piece.
- Stitch the left side seam. Serge and press open the allowances.
- Attach the upper front skirt to the front facing. Press the allowance towards the facing (a section of the facing remains unstitched). Serge the right side edges separately on each piece. Stitch the edge from the mark to the bottom edge. Press open the seam allowances, pressing the slit for the zipper. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the upper and lower parts of the skirt. Serge and press the allowances downwards. At the section where it attaches to the facing, press the allowance towards the facing.
- Stitch the front bias edge. Press open and serge the allowances.
- Stitch and press open the left side seam of the inner facings. Serge the bottom edge. Fold the facing with the skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Fold the facings to the wrong side, press. Fold the side edges and sew to the zipper tape. Topstitch the inner facing into the seam of the upper attachment.
- Serge the hem allowance. Press the allowances to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
