Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the inner collar stand, front facings, and back neckline facing.
  2. Mark and stitch the bust, waist, and shoulder darts on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL. Press bust darts upwards, and waist and shoulder darts towards the center of the pieces.
  3. Stitch the center back seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the left side seam and serge.
  4. Attach the outer collar stand to the back neckline, clip SEAM ALLOWANCES, and press towards the collar stand.
  5. Stitch the side seams and shoulder seams simultaneously with the collar stand seams. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
  6. Attach the inner collar stand to the FACING neckline, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline FACING and front facing. Serge the outer edge.
  7. Cut a BIAS BINDING strip 2.5 cm wide and 20 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out, and shape the rouleau loop. Cut loops. The length of one loop is approximately 4 cm.
  8. Place the front facing on the right side of the FRONT PANEL, right side down, pin, and stitch along the front edge and collar stand edge, inserting the finished piping and rouleau loops according to markings. Trim seams at corners. Turn the front edges and collar stand right side out, and shape the seams.
  9. Serge the bottom of the SLEEVE, press to the wrong side, and topstitch. Stitch and serge the SLEEVE seams. Set the SLEEVES into the armholes, press, and serge.
  10. Press the bottom of the garment to the wrong side by 1 cm, then another 1 cm, and topstitch.
  11. Topstitch the decorative closure. Sew on buttons. Serge the buttonhole on the inner FRONT PANEL. Sew on the corresponding button.
