From main fabric:
- BACK PANEL, center – 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL, side – 2 QTY

- Front facing – 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL neckline FACING – 1 QTY
- FRONT PANEL cape – 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL cape – 2 QTY
- Belt loops – 1 QTY
- Front strap – 2 QTY
- Back strap – 2 QTY
Lining pieces are cut according to the main fabric pieces, excluding the width of the BACK PANEL neckline FACING and front facing.
From lining fabric:
- BACK PANEL, center – 2 QTY
- BACK PANEL, side – 2 QTY
- FRONT PANEL, side – 2 QTY
- FRONT PANEL, center – 2 QTY
FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: front facing, BACK PANEL neckline FACING.
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the pieces. Along the BACK PANEL neckline, apply an additional fusible interfacing strip.
- Fold the strap in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch along one short and one long side. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES, turn right side out, and press. Finish the second strap similarly.
- Stitch the dart on the center BACK PANEL. Press the dart depth towards the center. Stitch and press open the princess seams on the BACK PANEL, inserting the back strap into the seam. Stitch the center BACK PANEL seam. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE open.
- Stitch the princess seam on the FRONT PANEL, inserting the front strap. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE towards the center.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the poncho. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
- On the belt loop piece, serge one long edge. Press the un-serged edge inwards, covering it with the serged edge. Stitch a double seam, securing the long SEAM ALLOWANCES. Cut the belt loop into 2 pieces. Attach the belt loops at the level of the side seam.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the cape. Serge and press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Stitch the center BACK PANEL seam. Serge and press open the SEAM ALLOWANCE. Serge the bottom edge of the cape and topstitch 1.5 cm from the edge. Place the cape on the poncho, align and secure the front edge and neckline edges.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the BACK PANEL neckline FACING and front facing. Attach the ZIPPER to the front edges. Place the front facing and FACING on the poncho, secure along the edges, and stitch along the neckline and front edges. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at corners, turn right side out, and press.
- Stitch the LINING pieces similarly to the main fabric pieces, leaving an opening in the left side seam. Attach the LINING to the FACING and front facing. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the FRONT PANEL armhole, then the BACK PANEL armhole. Attach the LINING to the bottom of the poncho. Turn the poncho right side out through the opening. Close the technical opening.
- Thread the buckle onto the back strap and secure the end. Topstitch along the front edge and neckline. Hand-tack the BACK PANEL cape to the center BACK PANEL seam at the waist level.
