Sewing Instructions
- Fuse the front facings, back neckline facing, collar stand, and hem seam allowances of the garment and sleeve with fusible interfacing. The fusible interfacing should extend 1 cm beyond the marked hemline.
- Stitch and press open the princess seams of the upper back. Stitch and press open the center seam of the upper back. Stitch and press open the princess seams of the lower back. Stitch and press open the center seam of the lower back. Stitch the upper and lower back sections together, press seam allowances open. Attach the outer collar stand to the neckline, press seam allowances open.
- Right front: Stitch and press open the princess seams of the upper front. Stitch the side and central lower front sections together, press seam allowances open. Stitch the upper and lower front sections together, press seam allowances open.
- Left front: Stitch the middle and side upper front sections together, press seam allowances open. Stitch the middle and side lower front sections together, press seam allowances open. Stitch the upper and lower front sections together, press seam allowances open. Stitch the central and side front sections together, inserting the left half of the zipper between the notches.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams together with the collar stand seam, press seam allowances open.
- Attach the inner collar stand to the neckline facing, press seam allowances open. Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facings.
- Place the front facing on the right side of the front, right side down, pin and stitch along the front edge and collar stand seam, inserting the right half of the zipper. Trim seams at corners. Turn out the front edges and collar stand, straighten seams, press.
- Stitch and press open the elbow seam of the sleeve. Press up the sleeve hem. Stitch and press open the front seam of the sleeve.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches, easing the sleeve cap. Insert shoulder pads and sleeve head rolls.
- On the lining pieces, stitch the seams and set in the sleeves, similar to the main fabric pieces, leaving an opening in the front right sleeve seam.
- Stitch the lining to the inner edges of the front facings and the back neckline facing. Secure the seam allowances of the collar stand attachment close to the seams. Stitch the lower edges of the front facings to the front. Trim seam allowances at corners. Turn the front edges to the right side, straighten seams. Press the lower edge of the garment to the wrong side. Stitch the lining to the bottom of the garment and to the sleeve hem. Turn the jacket through the opening in the sleeve. Close the opening.
- Topstitch along the front edge and collar stand 1 cm from the edge.
