Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse the FACING pieces with FUSIBLE INTERFACING.
2. Stitch the darts on the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL pieces. Press the waist dart allowances towards the center of the pieces, and the bust darts upwards.
3. Attach the back yoke to the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards, and overcast.
4. On both BACK PANEL pieces, fuse the vent from the wrong side. Overcast the center edges separately on each piece. On the right side, mark the center seam line (vent fold line). Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the mark to the vent corner. Clip the vent SEAM ALLOWANCE corner. Press open the center seam allowances, press the vent to the left side. Press the right side of the vent 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch. Topstitch the vent SEAM ALLOWANCES to the main piece with machine stitching.
5. On both FRONT PANEL pieces, fuse the vent from the wrong side. Overcast the center edges separately on each piece. On the right side, mark the center seam line (vent fold line). Attach the front yoke to the left FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the yoke and overcast. Attach the right FRONT PANEL with one seam to the yoke and the left FRONT PANEL up to the vent corner. Clip the vent SEAM ALLOWANCE corner. Press open the center seam allowances, press the vent to the left side. Press the right side of the vent 1 cm to the wrong side and topstitch. Topstitch the vent SEAM ALLOWANCES to the main piece with machine stitching.
6. Stitch the shoulder edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
7. Stitch the right side seam, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast. Overcast the left side edges separately, stitch from the armhole to the first mark and from the second mark to the bottom, press open. Insert the ZIPPER.
8. Cut a BIAS BINDING strip 3 cm wide and 7 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES and turn the piece right side out. Adjust the loop length.
9. Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL neckline FACINGS from the mark to the bottom, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Stitch the shoulder edges of the FACINGS, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the dress with the FACING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Stitch the neckline edge and the slit on the BACK PANEL, inserting the loop. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES at the curves, turn the pieces right side out and press. Attach the FACING to the shoulder seams. Sew on the button.
10. Attach the SLEEVE insert to the back part. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert, overcast. Attach the front part of the SLEEVE to the insert and the back part with one seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the insert, overcast. Stitch the SLEEVE edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast. Set the SLEEVES into the armhole, matching the NOTCHES. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast. Overcast the bottom edge of the SLEEVE, press SEAM ALLOWANCES to the wrong side and topstitch.
11. Overcast the hem allowance of the dress, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
