Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facing.
- Stitch the waist and shoulder darts on the back. Press the dart takes towards the centre. Stitch the bust darts on the front, press the dart takes upwards.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the Front Inset, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Stitch the Front Inset to the front, press seam allowances towards the front and overlock. Fold the front pieces right sides together, align along the center lines, folding back the insert, and stitch from the neckline edge to the mark. Unfold the resulting pleat and secure along the neckline edge.
- Stitch the side and shoulder edges, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings, overlock the outer edge. Place the dress with the facing right sides together, aligning the neckline edges, and stitch. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the facing to the shoulder seams.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press seam allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Stitch the sleeve edge, press seam allowances and overlock. Attach the cuff to the sleeve, placing it with the right side of the sleeve, press seam allowances and overlock. Fold the grown-on sleeve facing to the wrong side and topstitch onto the sleeve in the cuff attachment seam.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes, aligning the notches. Press seam allowances and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the dress, stitch the corners of the front. Press the hem allowance to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Topstitch the grown-on front facing to the front through the inset attaching seam.
- Fold the Tab in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening for turning. Trim the allowances at the corners, turn right side out, and press. Place the Tab across the top of the front opening and secure it with the 2 buttons.
