- 7. Collar – 1 qty
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also sew pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the bust darts on the front. Trim the dart depths with an overlocker and press.
- Attach the back sleeve parts to the back pieces, press and serge the seam allowances. Stitch the center back seam of the back, press and serge the seam allowances. Attach the lower back to the back, press and serge the seam allowances.
- Attach the front sleeve parts to the front pieces, press and serge the seam allowances. Stitch the center front seam of the front, press and serge the seam allowances. Attach the lower front to the front, press and serge the seam allowances.
- Stitch the upper sleeve seam, press and serge the seam allowances. Stitch the lower sleeve seams and side seams in one continuous seam. Press and serge the seam allowances.
- Stitch the collar into a loop. Press the collar in half lengthwise with the right side out and insert it into the neckline of the back and front. The collar seam should be located at the left shoulder seam. Press and serge the seam allowances.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeves, press to the wrong side, and hem with blind stitches.
