Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the darts on the Upper Back and Lower Back pieces, trim the dart depths to 1 cm and press towards the center.
- Stitch the darts on the Upper Front, trim the dart depths to 1 cm and press towards the center; press the lower darts towards the center front. On the Lower Front, fold the pleats. If necessary, slash the area marked with a wavy line. Baste the pleats along the upper edge.
- On the Middle Back and Middle Front pieces, stitch 4 horizontal pin-tucks on the wrong side, 2 cm apart; tuck depth 2 mm.
- Stitch the upper and lower front and back pieces to the Middle Front and Middle Back. Press the seam allowances towards the middle pieces.
- Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press the seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
- Stitch the shoulder seams and press the seam allowances open. Stitch the side seams. On the skirt, serge the seam allowances and press them towards the back; on the bodice, press them open.
- Stitch the darts on the front and back lining and attach the Middle Front Lining and Middle Back Lining. Serge the lower edge of the lining. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the lining and press the seam allowances towards the back. Place the dress and the lining right sides together and stitch the neckline. Cut along the vertical neckline slit. Clip the seam allowances at the curves, turn the lining to the inside, roll the seam and press. Stitch each armhole in two steps: first the back, then the front. Clip the seam allowances at the curves, turn and press. Tack the lining to the dress at the side and lower (midriff) seam allowances. Slip-stitch the lining to the zipper tape.
- Serge the hem edge of the dress, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
