Princess Seam Top with Front Flounce

• From main fabric:
1. Back yoke - 2 qty
2. Back side - 2 qty
3. Back center - 2 qty

9. Front neckline facing – 1 qty
• From fusible interfacing:
1. Front yoke – 2 qty
2. Back facing – 2 qty
3. Front neckline facing – 1 qty

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse fusible interfacing to corresponding pieces.
2. Stitch darts on back yokes. Press dart allowances towards the center.
3. Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and serge. Attach the yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards and serge.
4. Serge the center back seam separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark downwards. Press open the center seam allowances, pressing the zipper opening. Insert the zipper.
5. Place the front flounce pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the piece right side out, and press.
6. Place the neckline facing with the front center piece right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.
7. Stitch the front princess seams, inserting the flounce into the right seam, press seam allowances towards the center, and serge. Attach the yoke to the front, catching the flounce, press seam allowances onto the yoke.
8. Stitch the shoulder seams, clipping at the curve, press seam allowances towards the back and serge. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
9. Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the facings, press seam allowances open, serge the outer edges. Place the facing with the garment wrong sides together and stitch the back neckline edge and the front yoke neckline edge up to the mark. Clip seam allowances at the mark, clip at curves, trim at corners. Turn the facing to the wrong side.
10. Stitch the armholes in two steps: first the front, then the back. Clip seam allowances at curves. Topstitch the inner front yoke section into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
11. Press the dress hem allowance to the wrong side by 1 cm, then by 2 cm, and topstitch.
12. Sew buttons according to markings.
