Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch darts on BACK PANEL pieces. Press darts towards the center seam. Stitch upper and lower BACK PANELs. Press seam upwards and serge. Serge center edges of the BACK PANEL separately. Stitch the center edge from the NOTCHES for the ZIPPER to the bottom. Insert the ZIPPER.
  2. Stitch darts on FRONT PANEL pieces 5 cm from the bottom edge. Press dart depths towards the center. Form pleats on the upper FRONT PANEL. Direct pleat depths away from each other. Form pleats on the lower FRONT PANEL. Direct the depth of the upper pleat downwards, and the depth of the lower pleat upwards. Stitch the upper and lower FRONT PANELs. Serge and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards.
  3. Stitch side and shoulder edges. Ease the shoulder seam on the BACK PANEL. If the fabric does not allow for easing, trim the excess from the armhole side. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
  4. Stitch shoulder and side edges of the LINING. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the bottom edge of the LINING. Stitch the neckline with the LINING, folding back the pleat depth. Turn the LINING to the wrong side, clip and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES. Stitch the armholes in two steps: first the FRONT PANEL armhole, then the BACK PANEL armhole. Clip and press the SEAM ALLOWANCES at curved sections. Sew the LINING to the ZIPPER tape and to the waist SEAM ALLOWANCES.
