Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the neckline FACING pieces.
- Stitch darts on the upper BACK PANELs, trim SEAM ALLOWANCES to 1 cm and press towards the center. On the lower BACK PANELs, create and stitch inverted pleats for 10 cm from the upper edge. Attach the upper BACK PANELs to the lower BACK PANELs, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge.
- Serge the center edges of the BACK PANEL separately. Stitch the center edge of the BACK PANEL from the zipper NOTCH to the lower edge, press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Stitch darts on the upper FRONT PANEL, trim SEAM ALLOWANCES to 1 cm and press towards the center. On the lower FRONT PANELs, create and stitch inverted pleats for 10 cm from the upper edge.
- Clip the upper edge of the FRONT PANEL FLOUNCE at the NOTCH and serge. Press the integrated BIAS BINDING of the diagonal edge to the wrong side. Place the FLOUNCE on the FRONT PANEL right side to right side, aligning the attachment line of the FLOUNCE with the marked line on the FRONT PANEL (the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the upper edge of the FLOUNCE is directed downwards). Attach the FLOUNCE to the FRONT PANEL, fold down, align the armhole, side, and lower SEAM ALLOWANCES, placing the right FLOUNCE over the left. Then treat the FRONT PANEL as one piece.
- Attach the lower FRONT PANEL to the upper, press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side and shoulder edges, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and serge.
- Stitch the shoulder and side edges of the FACINGs. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Serge the center edges and the outer edge of the FACING. Place the dress and FACING right sides together and stitch the neckline. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the FACING out, straighten and press. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the BACK PANEL, then the FRONT PANEL. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn out, press. Secure the FACING to the garment at the side SEAM ALLOWANCES. Attach the FACING to the ZIPPER tape.
- Serge the lower edge of the dress, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the belt piece in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch, leaving a small opening for turning. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at corners, turn the belt right side out and press. Stitch the opening closed.
