Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the respective pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the right side of the back and front yoke pieces, press seam allowances downwards.
  3. Attach BACK YOKE 1 to BACK YOKE 2, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm. Attach BACK YOKE 2 to BACK YOKE 3, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  4. Serge the center edges of the pleat pieces, stitch the center edge from the top edge to the slit mark. Press seam allowances open, pressing the slit. Topstitch the slit at 0.1 cm from the edge. Form pleats according to markings. Topstitch pleats from the top edge to the slit mark.
  5. Attach the pleat pieces to the lower back panels. Press seam allowances towards the side edges and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm. Attach the upper back panel to the lower back panel, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  6. Attach FRONT YOKE 1 to FRONT YOKE 2, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm. Attach FRONT YOKE 2 to FRONT YOKE 3, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  7. Stitch the center edge of the front skirt half, press seam allowances to the left side and serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm. Attach the side front panels to the central front panels, press seam allowances towards the side edges and serge. Topstitch along the seams at 0.5 cm.
  8. Serge the right side edges separately on each piece. Stitch the right side seam from the ZIPPER mark downwards. Press seam allowances open, pressing the slit for the fastener. Insert the ZIPPER. Stitch the left side seam of the skirt. Press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  9. Stitch and press open the right side seam of the FACINGS. Serge the lower edge. Place the FACING on the skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Topstitch seam allowances onto the FACING at 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Turn FACINGS to the wrong side, press. Fold under the center edges and sew to the ZIPPER tape. Secure the FACING to the side seam allowances.
  10. Serge the lower edge of the skirt, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
  11. Sew buttons along the center pleat seam.
