Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to the outer plackets and outer collar stand.
- Place collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch. Start and end the stitching exactly at the marked seam line for attaching. Clip seam allowances at curves. Turn the finished collar stand right side out and press.
- Stitch the waist, shoulder, and bust darts on the back and front. Press the depths of the shoulder and waist darts towards the center of the respective pieces, and the depths of the bust darts upwards. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances to the left side and overlock.
- Cut the flounce in a spiral. Overlock the outer edge of the flounce with a narrow rolled hem. Place the flounce on the front between the marks and secure along the edge.
- Place placket pieces right sides together and stitch along the outer edge. Turn the pieces right side out and press. Attach the outer placket to the front, press seam allowances towards the placket. Fold the inner placket inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Attach the upper collar stand to the neckline, fold the open edge of the lower collar stand under and topstitch into the attachment seam of the upper collar stand.
- Overlock the sleeve hem, press to the wrong side and topstitch. Place the back sleeve on the front, aligning the marks, and secure along the upper edge. Attach the sleeves into the armhole, clip seam allowances at the marks, press and overlock.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower of the armhole + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the bias binding with the armhole edge on the right side, extending the tails, and stitch. Fold the bias binding to the wrong side, clip the seams with notches and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Overlock the garment hem, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- On the right placket, overlock buttonholes; on the left, sew on buttons.
