Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: double-sided knit fabric with medium stretch, made from natural or blended fibers.
CUTTER'S MUST
If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance and sleeve hem allowance – 1.5 cm, other seams 0.7 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need.
- From main fabric:
- Back – 2 pieces
- Left front part – 1 piece
- Right front part – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Flounce – 1 piece
- Placket - 1 piece
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match!
- Finish the outer edge of the flounce with a narrow rolled hem. Overlock the straight edge of the flounce, fold inwards by 1 cm, and topstitch.
- Mark and stitch the dart on the right front part. Trim the depth with an overlocker. Stitch the shaped front seam, inserting the flounce into the seam. Press the seam.
- Stitch the center back seam. Press the seam open.
- On the sleeve, create soft pleats according to the markings. The pleat depths are directed downwards. Secure the pleats along the armhole. Overlock the lower sleeve allowance, fold inwards, and topstitch. Clip the armhole allowance of the back and front near the mark. Attach the sleeves to the back and front. Press the seam towards the back and front.
- Stitch the side seams, overlock, and press towards the back.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the armhole. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
- Fold the placket right sides together and stitch into a loop. Turn the piece right side out, fold in half lengthwise, and press. Attach the placket to the neckline, stretching the edge and aligning the notches. The placket seam is located at the center back seam.
