Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: pliable knit fabric with medium stretch from natural or blended fibers in two colors.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: All allowances – 0.7 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece
    • Front – 1 piece
    • Strap – 1 piece
    • Waistband – 1 piece
  • From contrast fabric:
    • Upper back trim – 2 pieces
    • Upper front trim – 2 pieces
    • Side back trim – 1 piece
    • Side front trim – 1 piece
    • Lower back trim – 1 piece
    • Lower front trim – 1 piece

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fold the upper back and front trims right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Turn the pieces right side out, press.
  2. Attach the back trim to the back, slightly stretching the trim, press and overcast the allowances. Attach the front trim to the front, slightly stretching the trim, press and overcast the allowances.
  3. Stitch the shoulder and right side seams, press and overcast the allowances. Place a bar tack on the shoulder seam and at the armhole.
  4. Stitch the side back and front trims along the shoulder edge. Fold the side trim in half lengthwise right side out and attach to the left side edge. Press and overcast the allowances.
  5. Stitch the lower back and front trims along the side edge. Fold the trim in half lengthwise right side in and stitch the short sides. Turn the trim right side out, fold in half and attach to the lower edge. Press and overcast the allowances. Topstitch the allowance to the side trim.
  6. Overcast and cut the belt slits. Fold the dress, aligning the left edges, and topstitch along the markings through all layers, securing the back and front. Also secure the back and front at the side trim.
  7. Fold the strap in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch the long side. Turn right side out, overcast the short sides. Put on the dress, adjust the position and length of the strap, and topstitch it into the seam of the upper trim attachment and along the upper edge of the trim.
  8. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch along the contour, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the waistband right side out, press, sew up the opening. Thread the waistband through the openings.
