Level Of Difficulty

Fabric Recommendations

Choose fabrics that offer excellent drape to achieve the desired flowing silhouette:

  • Silky, well-draping fabrics (e.g., rayon challis, crepe de chine, Tencel twill)
  • Lightweight natural or blended fibers with good drape

Additional Supplies

  • Decorative thread for tassels

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams – 1 cm. Attention! First of all, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Cape - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Overlock the back edge. Stitch the edge from the raw edge to the mark. Press the seam open. Fold the neckline allowance inwards and topstitch.
  2. Overlock the bottom edges, fold inwards and topstitch.
  3. Tassel: cut a piece of cardboard 10 cm high (finished tassel length) and 5 – 7 cm wide. Place a pencil on top. Then wind the threads 20 – 30 times. Remove the cardboard, direct the threads down from the pencil. Secure the tassel with thread under the pencil. Remove the pencil, thread a needle through the loop formed, and sew it to the cape.
