Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: thin suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: fusible interlining; 1 concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include seam allowances. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 3 cm, center back seam allowance - 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need. Inscriptions on the patterns are on the right side!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back panel – 2 pieces
    • Upper front panel – 1 piece
    • Lower front panel – 1 piece
    • Back facing – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 1 piece
    • Flounce_1 – 2 pieces
    • Flounce_2 – 2 pieces
    • Flounce_3 – 2 pieces
    • Flounce_4 – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interlining:
    • Back facing – 2 pieces
    • Front facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Reinforce facing pieces with fusible interlining.
  2. Stitch darts on back panel pieces, press seam allowances towards the center.
  3. Overcast center back seams. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the slit mark. Press seam allowances open, pressing the zipper slit and the lower slit. Insert the zipper.
  4. Fold flounce_4 pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch the lower edge from the sharp corner to mark “o”. Clip seam allowances at the mark. Turn the flounce right side out, straighten, press. Fold the flounce along the marked line, secure along the upper edge.
  5. Fold flounce_3 pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch the lower edge, inserting flounce_4 between them. Turn the flounce right side out, straighten, press. Fold the flounce along the marked line, secure along the upper edge.
  6. Fold flounce_2 pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch the lower edge, inserting flounce_3 between them. Turn the flounce right side out, straighten, press. Fold the flounce along the marked line, secure along the upper edge.
  7. Fold flounce_1 pieces in pairs right sides together and stitch the lower edge, inserting flounce_2 between them. Turn the flounce right side out, straighten, press. Fold the flounce along the marked line, secure along the upper edge.
  8. Stitch the upper and lower front panel pieces, inserting flounce_1 between them. Press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
  9. Topstitch the free-hanging panel onto the skirt into the flounce stitching seams from the right side seam to the first mark.
  10. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back panel and overcast.
  11. Stitch side seams of facings. Overcast the lower edge. Fold the facing with the skirt right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Topstitch seam allowances to the facing 0.2 cm from the stitching seam. Fold facings to the wrong side, press. Fold the back edges of the facing and sew to the zipper tape.
  12. Overcast the lower edge of the skirt together with the lower edge of the free-hanging panel, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Topstitch the slit on the back panel 0.1 cm from the edge.
