Introducing a women's sewing pattern for a chic knit dress featuring an elegantly draped cowl neckline and a flattering, form-fitting silhouette.
This versatile knit dress is perfect for a range of settings, offering both comfort and style, making it ideal for:
Silhouette: Fitted through the bodice and hips, with a straight, knee-length skirt.
Neckline: Elegantly draped cowl neckline, forming soft folds at the front.
Sleeves: Set-in sleeves, finishing at a flattering three-quarter length.
Waist: Defined waistline seam separates the draped bodice from the skirt, designed to be cinched with a belt for a flattering shape.
Back: Clean and fitted back silhouette with a center back seam for shaping.
Length: Knee-length pencil skirt, offering a classic and versatile finish.
Intermediate. Suitable for sewists comfortable with handling knit fabrics and basic garment construction, including sewing darts, setting sleeves, and creating a draped neckline.
To achieve the characteristic drape and comfortable fit, select knit fabrics that offer good stretch and recovery:
No additional notions are required.
Fabric recommendations: well-draping knit fabric with medium stretch, made from natural or blended fibers.
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance, sleeve hem allowance, neckline allowance of the inner front piece – 1.5 cm. Other seams 0.8 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.
Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
