Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: Medium-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: decorative cord.

CUTTER'S MUST

If the patterns have a double contour, they include SEAM ALLOWANCES. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm; neckline allowances for back and front, armhole allowances for back and front, lower edge allowance for the right back wing – 1.5 cm; casing allowances – 0 cm; other seams 0.7 cm. ATTENTION! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the NOTCHES - they must match! Inscriptions on the patterns are on the right side!

  • Left back part – 1 piece
  • Right back part – 1 piece
  • Front – 1 piece
  • Side panel – 1 piece
  • Sleeve casing – 2 pieces
  • Relief casing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

1. Press the short edges of the casing 1 cm to the wrong side. Press the casings lengthwise in half, wrong sides together.
2. Stitch the center back seam, press allowances open.
3. Place the casings on the relief seams of the front and side panel from the top mark downwards and secure. The fold of the casing is directed away from the edge. Stitch the front relief seam, press allowances open.
4. Stitch the side seams, press allowances open.
5. Stitch the left shoulder seam, press allowances open.
6. Finish the neckline allowances for the back and front, and the left armhole allowances. Press them to the wrong side and topstitch. Clip the armhole allowance on the right back part at the corner near the wing. Finish the lower edge of the wing and the back and front armholes, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
7. Place the casings on the right shoulder edges and secure. The fold of the casing is directed away from the edge. Stitch the shoulder seam, press allowances open.
8. Finish the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
9. Thread the cord through the casings: first into one casing from bottom to top, then into the other from top to bottom. Tighten.
