Sleeveless Draped V-Neck Asymmetric Blouse

Pattern #2829
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm, allowance for the bottom edge of the front and back, and for the bias edge of the front – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece with fold
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the relevant pieces.
  2. Lay and secure pleats on the front. Depths are directed towards the center.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams. Press allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place the facing on the garment right side down and stitch the neckline. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press.
  5. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge on the right side and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  6. Serge the bottom allowance of the front and the bias edge, press to the wrong side, forming an overlap of the allowance at the corner, and topstitch.
  7. Overlap the right front over the left and secure along the side seams.
  8. Stitch side seams. Press allowances towards the back and serge.
  9. Serge the bottom allowance of the back. Fold the allowance inwards and topstitch.
