Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: thin, soft suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing, invisible zipper, 8 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
    • Back panel – 2 pieces
    • Front panel – 1 piece on fold
    • Front yoke - 2 pieces
    • Back yoke – 4 pieces
    • Placket – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back yoke – 2 pieces
    • Front yoke - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Form and secure the inverted pleat on the back skirt panel. Attach the back yoke to the back panel, press seam allowances upwards.
  3. Serge the center edges of the back panel separately on each piece. Stitch the center seam from the zipper mark to the hem. Press seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
  4. Form and secure the inverted pleat on the front skirt panel. Fold the long edges of the placket inwards and press. Place the placket on the skirt and topstitch according to markings. Attach the front yoke to the front panel, press seam allowances upwards.
  5. Stitch the side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Stitch the side seams of the inner yokes, press seam allowances open. Serge the bottom edge. Place the yoke and skirt right sides together and stitch the top edge. Topstitch seam allowances to the yoke 0.2 cm from the stitching line. Fold the yoke to the wrong side, press. Fold the center edges and sew to the zipper tape. Topstitch the yoke into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
  7. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  8. Sew decorative buttons onto the placket and front yoke.
