Fitted Collared Dress with Cuffed Sleeves and Pockets

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of non-fraying materials from natural or blended fibers. (neoprene, quilted knit, wool velour). ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES; IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. Pocket top edge allowance - 2 cm. Other seams – 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center back – 2 pieces
    • Side back – 2 pieces
    • Lower back – 2 pieces
    • Center front – 2 pieces
    • Side front – 2 pieces
    • Lower front – 2 pieces
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Pocket – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces. Fuse the top edge of the pocket.
  2. Fold the top edge of the pocket inwards and topstitch. Fold the side and bottom allowances of the pocket to the wrong side and press. Position the pocket on the front according to the markings and topstitch.
  3. Stitch the princess seams on the back and front pieces, folding the pieces wrong sides together. Trim allowances to 0.2-0.3 cm.
  4. Attach the lower front and back pieces, folding the pieces wrong sides together. Trim allowances to 0.2-0.3 cm.
  5. Stitch the center front seam, folding the pieces wrong sides together. Trim allowances to 0.2-0.3 cm.
  6. Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Press allowances towards the back.
  7. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem, press allowances open. Attach the outer collar to the neckline. Insert the zipper up to the middle of the collar. Fold the allowance of the inner collar and topstitch into the seam of the outer collar attachment. Stitch the allowance of the center collar seam to the zipper tape.
  8. Stitch the sleeve seams, press allowances. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press allowances open. Fold the cuff lengthwise in half, right side out, and press. Attach the outer cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner cuff inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  9. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press allowances.
  10. Fold the hem allowance of the garment to the wrong side and topstitch.
