Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance - 2.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Center Back – 2 pieces
    • Side Back – 2 pieces
    • Side Front – 2 pieces
    • Center Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Yoke – 4 pieces
    • Back Neckline Facing – 2 pieces
    • Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front Neckline Facing – 1 piece
    • Back Neckline Facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse interfacing to the Front Neckline Facing and Back Neckline Facings.
  2. Overlock the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper mark to the hem. Press seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
  3. Stitch the back princess seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the center.
  4. Stitch the front princess seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the center.
  5. Overlock the outer edge of the Front Neckline Facing. Place the facing right side down on the front and stitch the neckline and corners. Clip seam allowances, trim corners, turn the facing to the wrong side and press.
  6. Place the Yokes together in pairs, right sides facing, insert the front between them and stitch along the lower edge, simultaneously stitching the neckline edge. Turn the yokes to the right side, straighten the seams and press.
  7. Overlock the outer edge of the Back Neckline Facings. Place the facings on the back and stitch the neckline edge exactly up to the marked shoulder seam line. Clip seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press.
  8. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front (with the yoke) between the back and the back facing, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
  9. Cut a bias binding (if not ready-made) 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch, fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece.
  10. Stitch the side seams. Overlock seam allowances and press towards the back.
  11. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
