Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; concealed zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm; hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! ATTENTION! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side!
- From main fabric:
- Center back right - 1 piece
- Center back left - 1 piece
- Side back - 2 pieces
- Center front - 1 piece
- Side front - 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing right – 1 piece
- Back neckline facing left – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing right – 1 piece
- Back neckline facing left – 1 piece
- Front neckline facing – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to facing pieces.
- Stitch back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge. Stitch front princess seams, clipping the center part at the corner, press allowances towards the center and serge.
- Serge center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch center back seam from zipper mark to hem, press allowances open. Insert concealed zipper.
- Stitch left side seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Stitch right shoulder seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch side and shoulder edges of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing and garment right sides together and stitch neckline of back and front, ties and left armhole. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners, turn pieces right side out, straighten, press. Secure facing to main garment at right shoulder seam and zipper tape.
- Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and length equal to armhole length + 4 cm. Fold bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place binding with right armhole edge right sides together and stitch, fold binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece.
- Stitch right side seam, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Serge hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Tie a bow on the left shoulder.
